Agreement to terms

By downloading, installing, or using SalarySnap ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. These terms constitute a legal agreement between you and Dimitris Kontaris, trading as dkc. ltd ("we", "us", "our"), based in London, UK.

Description of the app

SalarySnap is a UK salary calculator that provides estimated take-home pay calculations based on publicly available HMRC tax rates, National Insurance thresholds, student loan repayment rates, and other published data. The App is available for iOS devices through the Apple App Store.

Not financial, tax, or legal advice

SalarySnap provides estimates for informational purposes only. The App does not constitute financial, tax, or legal advice. Calculations are based on published rates and general rules that may not account for your specific circumstances. You should always consult a qualified professional (such as an accountant, tax adviser, or financial planner) for advice specific to your situation.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure calculations are accurate based on current HMRC rates, but we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any calculation. Tax rules are complex and change frequently. You use the App's calculations at your own risk.

Free and Pro features

SalarySnap offers a core set of features free of charge with no ads. Additional features are available through an optional Pro subscription or lifetime purchase. Free features will remain free and will not be moved behind a paywall.

When you first open the App you get a 14-day free trial of all Pro features. The trial starts automatically, needs no payment method and no subscription, and nothing is charged at any point during it. It does not convert into a paid plan. When the 14 days end, Pro features lock and the App continues to work with its free features, which are not affected by the trial ending. The trial runs once per device: deleting and reinstalling the App does not start a new one. You can subscribe to Pro or make the lifetime purchase at any time, during or after the trial.

Subscriptions and purchases

Pro features are available through the following in-app purchase options:

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at the time of purchase confirmation. Annual subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the current subscription price.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time by going to Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. The 14-day free trial described above is separate from your subscription: it needs no payment method, so there is nothing to cancel and you are never charged for it.

Prices may vary by region and are subject to change. Any price changes will apply to subsequent renewal periods, not the current one.

Payslip Audit

Payslip Audit compares the deductions on your payslip against the figures that published HMRC rates, together with the details you enter, would produce. You can scan a payslip with the camera, import a photo or PDF, or type the figures in yourself. Where you provide an image or PDF, the App uses on-device optical character recognition to extract the information, and where the key figures cannot be identified from the recognised text it may use Apple's on-device foundation model to interpret it. The accuracy of the extraction depends on the quality and format of the source document. We do not guarantee that extraction will be error-free. You should always check the extracted figures against your original payslip before relying on them.

The App flags differences between your payslip and its own expected figures. A flagged difference is not proof of a payroll error, and the expected figures are only as accurate as the tax code, pension and student loan details you enter. Tax code changes, emergency codes, cumulative corrections from earlier in the tax year, NI category letters and employer-specific arrangements can all produce legitimate differences. Payslip Audit provides estimates for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial, tax, or legal advice. Please raise any suspected error with your employer, HMRC, or a qualified adviser before acting on it.

All payslip processing occurs locally on your device. No images, documents, or extracted data are transmitted to any server, including ours.

Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, content, and visual identity, is owned by dkc. ltd and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App, or reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.

Availability and updates

We may update the App from time to time to reflect changes in tax rates, add new features, or fix issues. We aim to update HMRC rates promptly at the start of each tax year but do not guarantee a specific timeline. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the App at any time without notice.

Third-party terms

Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (EULA). In the event of any conflict between these terms and Apple's EULA, Apple's EULA shall prevail to the extent of the conflict.

Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App or on our website. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
