The short version: SalarySnap does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of your data. All calculations run entirely on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no ads.

SalarySnap is developed and published by Dimitris Kontaris, trading as dkc. ltd, based in London, UK. You can contact us at support@salarysnap.app.
Data we collect
We do not collect any data. Specifically:
- No personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
- No salary or financial information
- No usage analytics or behavioural data
- No device identifiers or IP addresses
- No location data
- No cookies or tracking technologies
All salary calculations, comparisons, and results are processed locally on your device and are never transmitted to any server.
Third-party services
SalarySnap does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not use services such as Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, Firebase, or any similar tools.
If you choose to purchase a Pro subscription or lifetime unlock, that transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple's handling of payment data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store any payment details.
In-app purchases and subscriptions
SalarySnap offers optional Pro features through Apple's in-app purchase system. Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple. We receive anonymised transaction confirmations but no personal or financial details about you.
To manage or cancel a subscription, go to Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions on your device.
Payslip Audit
Payslip Audit checks the deductions on your payslip against the figures HMRC rates would produce. You can add a payslip by taking a photo, choosing an image from your photo library, importing a PDF or image file, or typing the figures in by hand.
When you supply an image or a PDF, the app reads it on your device using optical character recognition (OCR) from Apple's built-in Vision framework. If OCR cannot find all of your gross pay, income tax and National Insurance figures, the app may pass the recognised text to Apple's on-device foundation model to fill in the gaps. That model also runs entirely on your device, and the app uses it only when your device makes it available. No payslip data, images, or extracted text is transmitted to any server, including ours.
Payslip images and files are held in memory only while the audit is open and are discarded when you close it. The app does not save them to your device and does not add them to your photo library. If you choose to export a result, the exported PDF or spreadsheet is created on your device and goes only where you send it.
Permissions
SalarySnap asks for one permission, and one only: access to your camera. It is requested solely if you choose to photograph a payslip in Payslip Audit. iOS asks you the first time you use it, and you can decline, or change your mind later, in Settings. Declining simply means you use one of the other ways to enter a payslip: choosing an image you already have, importing a file, or typing the figures in yourself.
Choosing an image from your photo library or importing a file uses Apple's system picker, which passes SalarySnap only the item you select. SalarySnap does not request photo library access and has no visibility of the rest of your library or your files.
Data retention and deletion
Since we do not collect any data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Any settings and saved calculations you create in the app are stored locally on your device and are removed when you delete the app. There is one exception: the end date of your 14-day free trial is stored in your device's Keychain, so that reinstalling does not start a new trial. It is a single date, it contains no personal information, the app never transmits it, and we never receive it. It stays on your device after you delete the app.
Children's privacy
SalarySnap does not collect data from any user, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). The app is rated 4+ on the App Store.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and other applicable privacy laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and restrict the processing of your personal data. Since SalarySnap does not collect any personal data, these rights are inherently fulfilled. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, if the changes are significant, we will notify you through the app or on our website.
